The piano is quite possibly one of the most popular instruments to learn to play. You can start playing it right away, it is very easy to play and thankfully, it doesn’t require much patience. It’s because these things that everyone wants to play piano. I myself starting by playing piano before anything else, just because it was great to start on. So how was I able to learn how to play piano?

Well it was a little while back when I wanted to learn how to play piano. I was just out of high school and I had lots of free time, but not a lot of dough. I wanted to learn how to play piano, but I couldn’t afford a tutor or classes at my local college. When I was surfing the web I came across a program called Learn and Master Piano by Will Barrow. I figured to myself, why not. So I bought it for under 200 bucks, and believe me, I was so happy. First off its a real, hold in your hand program, not something you download. The course consists of 20 DVD’s, a manual and 5 jam along CD’s. Just the packaging itself made it have a very professional feel.

After using the course for about 8 months, I was able to play almost song that I wanted to play. It was crazy how fast I mastered playing the piano in such short time. It was crazy! And check this out, I was able to read sheet music. The videos are very easy to follow, Will is a very friendly and good teacher, and the manual showed awesome pics and diagrams. I was so happy with the course that I also picked up Learn and Master Guitar right afterwards. What do you want to gain from learning how to play piano? Whether you are a beginner and just want to learn how to get started or you have played before and you need to get motivated again, I want to show you a thing or two about some simply learning tips. Do you need to make sure you first off learn as much as possible? Just to make sure that you learn correctly, you’ll need to find some kind of lessons to learn from. How about instead of talking about the program now, I tell you about those 3 tips.

Beginners don’t get how important it is to be able to read sheet music. A lot of people are too eager to play they forget and then they lose interest when they hit road blocks and realize that they have to know how to read sheet music in order to get any better. Remember the old saying, crawl before you walk. First tip is that you always want to keep your eyes glued to the music and not to your piano keys. If you start out like this, it will literally be impossible because you won’t know what keys to hit to play the right notes. But after practicing this for a while, you’ll be able to master it.

Tip number 2, learn to read sheet music ahead. Basically you are going to want to read a few notes ahead in the sheet music, that way you aren’t hanging on each note progression when it comes into play. Last step is learning how to play chords and scales, and understand them. These will increase your speed and knowledge of the keys greatly.

Now, do you remember the training I mentioned before. You can hire a tutor, learn on your own, take a class, or pick up and online/at home training course. The best learn to play piano program I found was Rocket Piano by Ruth Searle. Her teaching methods are outstanding and after a few struggles in the beginning my playing level went up quite fast. How about instead of listening to me rave about how great the program was, read the Rocket Piano review.
