The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set

The Beatles UK studio albums were first digitally remastered and released on CD in the 80s at that time digital mastering was still a relatively new art and since the 80s a whole bunch has been figured out about how to remaster best but even more important is that at that time the digital technology was still in it’s infancy in comparison to today.

The many forward movements in digital technology and all of the knowledge learned on how to most effectively remaster original analog tapes digitally have been put to very good use with the Beatles remasters of 2009. On September 9, 2009 The Beatles released both The Beatles in Stereo and The Beatles Mono Box Set. And both remastered box sets sound absolutely fantastic. If you have not yet heard them then I recommend that you hear The Beatles remastered as soon as possible.

Which flavor of remastered Beatles should a fan order? Well for this Beatles fan the answer was simple: “all of the above” but if you can only have you will most likely go with the Beatles in Stereo since it includes all 13 of their studio albums and most fans will prefer listening to the stereo mixes in comparison to the mono mixes.

The Beatles Mono Box Set is more for hardcore Beatles fans who want to hear all of the differences between the mono and stereo mixes (and in some cases they are very different from each other) and for fans who want to hear the Fab Four how they originally heard them (this obviously applies to older fans who were there for The Beatles in person in the 60s.)

I ordered both of these boxes and if you can afford it, you should definitely do that as well. They both have their negatives and positives and in my opinion they are both great versions of The Beatles unmatched back catalog.

While you are at it, you may want to order The Beatles Rock Band game too, it is a ton of fun. And I don’t normally enjoy playing video games.
